Elsie Kaye Gift Shop &amp; Artisan Studio In 2009, on a whim, Holly Kenny took a flameworking class and learned to make glass beads. This sparked a love of glass art and led to the launch her business, Elsie Kaye Gift Shop and Art Studio in downtown Westborough. Holly currently teaches flameworking and metalworking at her studio and is on the faculty at the New England Craft Program in Williamsburg, MA. Holly loves the fluidity and movement of glass and enjoys incorporating metals, enamels and other elements that can change the texture and appearance of the glass. As a result, much of her work takes on an abstract, organic feel. Her work, under the name Elsie Kaye Glassworks, can be found at more than 50 boutiques and galleries across the country. Holly is passionate about promoting emerging local artists by selling their work at her retail shop, as well as helping to foster connections with new and existing businesses in the local area. She is an active member of her community, where she has lived with her husband and two children since 2006.

"The Lost Art of Etiquette" will be the topic of the next monthly program at the Northborough Historical Society on Friday, April 22 starting at 7:30pm, presented by Megan MacNeil. Megan MacNeil, Registrar of Historic New England Association.Megan MacNeil will use journals, diaries and letter and quotes from the Phillips Family (Phillips House is one of the Historic New England's properties) to discuss dining room and parlor etiquette, letter writing, how to pay a visit, calling cards and other behavior expected of the different members of the family and household staff. This lecture covers the period of time from 1880s to 1940s.This program is free and open to the public. All are welcome. Programs are held at the Historical Society Building, 52 Main Street (corner of Main and School Streets) in Northborough.
