Man Indicted on Charges of Raping a 12-Year-Old Northborough Girl
Angel Ortiz of Chelsea has been indicted on charges of raping a child under 16.

The Worcester County Grand Jury handed up indictments on Monday, Dec. 12, charging Angel Ortiz of Chelsea with enticing a child under 16, indecent A&B on a child, rape of a child, aggravated by age difference, and unnatural rape of a child, according to Tim Connelly, communications director for the Worcester County district attorney's office.
Ortiz, 28, of 27 Saipan Rd., Chelsea was originally summonsed to Westborough court after Northborough police filled out a criminal complaint on Aug. 19, 2009, and was charged with rape of a child, statutory, aggravated.
According to the Telegram and Gazette, Ortiz was arrested by on July 31, 2009, after contacting the victim to meet for a second time.
The Telegram also reports that according to court records the two initially met on MySpace accounts and text-messaged each other for two weeks.
When Mr. Ortiz drove to Northborough to meet the 12-year-old girl, reported the Telegram, "she got into his car and they drove a quarter-mile to a secluded conservation area where they had sexual intercourse. The girl told police that she also performed oral sex on Mr. Ortiz."
Northborough police, according to the Telegram, caught Ortiz after he texted a police officer, "thinking it was the girl, and told her he had booked a room at the Econo Lodge Motel in Northboro, where he wanted to meet up with her again."

No date has been set for his arraignment in Worcester Superior Court.
