Elsie Kaye Artisan Gifts & Flamework Studio

Elsie Kaye Gift Shop &amp; Artisan Studio In 2009, on a whim, Holly Kenny took a flameworking class and learned to make glass beads. This sparked a love of glass art and led to the launch her business, Elsie Kaye Gift Shop and Art Studio in downtown Westborough. Holly currently teaches flameworking and metalworking at her studio and is on the faculty at the New England Craft Program in Williamsburg, MA. Holly loves the fluidity and movement of glass and enjoys incorporating metals, enamels and other elements that can change the texture and appearance of the glass. As a result, much of her work takes on an abstract, organic feel. Her work, under the name Elsie Kaye Glassworks, can be found at more than 50 boutiques and galleries across the country. Holly is passionate about promoting emerging local artists by selling their work at her retail shop, as well as helping to foster connections with new and existing businesses in the local area. She is an active member of her community, where she has lived with her husband and two children since 2006.

The Northborough 250th Committee and the Northborough Historical Society present Ghosts in the Graveyard. Along the guided cemetery tour, guests will meet thirteen "ghosts" of notable past residents of Northborough. The event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 24 at the Howard Street Cemetery, 7 pm - 9 pm.There will be stops along the tour to hear and speak with costumed re-enactors. It is recommended that guests bring a flashlight. Parking is available at Marion Zeh School, 33 Howard St., Northborough, which is located across the street from the cemetery. The event is free and open to all. The rain date is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 1. The evening is one of the many events that have been planned throughout the year to commemorate Northborough's 250th anniversary.
