Thought and Poem – December 25, 2014
All down through mankind’s history, we have come to rely on many things in life. But more than anything we have gleaned from the soil, or from the trees, or from anything we have designed or created, we have come to rely on three things that will guarantee that there will be more tomorrows…the sun, the moon and the stars.
Poems, books, pictures, all have captured the bond we have with these heavenly bodies and have built in us a trust for the one who made all things in the first place.

Whether a person is peering into a star-lit sky, meditating on the pull the moon has on our presence, or being appreciative of the value of life we have because of the sun, the bottom line is…we all at one time or another have thought about the sun, the moon and the stars and what they mean to for us today and in the future days to come. There is a sense of peace and comfort that comes over us knowing that someone is watching over us and will always be there for us.
What about you? When you think of the sun, the moon and the stars, do you think about more than the science behind these heavenly bodies, or do you have deeper thoughts? Share your thoughts with us…Jeanne Claire Probst

The Sun, the Moon and the Stars
When we peer up at the sky above
We see, the Sun, the Moon and the Stars,
A testimony in the sky for years to come,
Hanging there for us to see and proof of God’s unending love.
The Sun keeps us warm
Helps our food to grow
Gives us the right vitamins we need
And generously supplies us our light each day so that we are able to see.
Now the Moon too hangs there every night
And gives off just enough light
That we may maneuver about our way
Its gravity helps us on earth to stay.
The stars – there are so many millions we can see
That helps us navigate when we travel the seas
They also allow us to think deeply and we want to know
What makes them so bright and why at night they glow?
The Sun, the Moon, and the Stars
All magnificent as they stand
In their places in the sky each day
These are proof of a Creator so grand that can guide us successfully in every way.
But only if we listen so
To how God wants our steps to go
And learn to obey the best we can
So that like the Sun, the Moon and the Stars we too will forever stand.
