No one likes to admit they have made mistakes. Some though, feel that making mistakes means we have failed and will never succeed. How silly is that?

When you look back at all the mistakes you can remember you have made in your lifetime, how many of them have you learned from? I know I have. Many times after making or errors, don’t we wish we had listed to the voices of wisdom; our mothers, fathers, teachers, our gut? Mistakes have taught me a lot in life and one major lesson I have learned…is to listen better!

As humans, we tend to be rebellious at times and want to do things our way, even when we know that our way may not be right. Why is that? And, as we raise our children, we hear the echoing of wise persons we have known as we shout out these same words of wisdom to them. Don’t do this…don’t do that! And when they don’t listen to us we reflect back on all the times we did not listen either. But the good thing that have going for them…they are still young…with plenty of time to learn.
What about you? Can you remember times you wished you had listened so that you could have avoided making mistakes? Share your thoughts with us…Jeanne Claire Probst
Poem: Moving Forward Despite Mistakes
Learn from your mistakes
Don’t drag them with you through each day
Face them honestly and as best as you can
Then move forward in your day and try again!
We are going to make mistakes
But do whatever it takes,
To glean what you need,
And in learning you will succeed.
In making mistakes, we are not alone,
And by our mistakes many have grown,
They have become the better person they are today,
Humbly learning from the from the lessons;
Mistakes have taught them each day.
No need to drown in our sorrows;
Move on to our tomorrows;
It won’t be the last time we made a mistake,
So like dogs when they are soaking wet….we need to “shake it off, so…shake…shake…shake!”
