No Parade, But Fireworks are Happening at Applefest This Year
People have been asking, "Is there a parade this year?"

It's tough to have a parade when the town's main artery is clogged with construction workers, dirt haulers and detour signs. Ultimately, that's the decision the town and has come to regarding the Applefest Parade this year.
Given the circumstances, the parade will be canceled for this year, according to Michelle Gillespie, president of the Rotary Club.
Applefest, happening Sept. 14-16, will have all the bells and whistles of previous years, though, including the return of the popular fireworks display, which takes place on Sept. 16 at Algonquin Regional High School during the barbecue and concert. Rumors floated around that fireworks might not be happening. Gillespie was happy to report it is indeed confirmed.
