Obituary: Joan Maguire, Mother-in-Law of Town Selectman, Passed Away Earlier This Week

Joan Maguire, who lived at Whitney Place in Northborough and the mother-in-law to Selectman Jeff Amberson, died on Sunday.

Joan M. (Dober) Maguire, 83, of Northborough, formerly of Hudson, died Sunday, April 15, at her residence at Whitney Place in Northborough.

She was the beloved wife of the late James D. Maguire who died in 1998. Maguire was born in Boston, daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (Barry) Dober. She resided in Hudson most of her life and along with her husband James, founded, owned and operated Atlantic Refrigeration of Hudson. She was a member of Saint Michaels Parish in Hudson and member of the A.O.H. of Marlboro.

She is survived by her children, Michael Maguire and his wife Karen of Hopkinton, Diane Taylor and her husband Jeff of Hudson, Joann Amberson and her husband Jeff of Northboro and was the mother of the late Robert J. Maguire who died in 1991. She is also survived by her two sisters, Geraldine Salvi of Stoneham, Mary Alice Dober of Somerville; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late James Dober.
