Whiz Kids Keys to Awesomeness: Dave and Janet Robbins have led this Cub Scout den for five years and have guided each scout through each yearβs requirements. With the Robbinsβ leadership and the motivation of the boys, each of the boys made outstanding accomplishments. "They have really grown up and become responsible, friendly and caring scouts," said Dave.
Dave explained that the Arrow of Light takes the better part of two years to accomplish: "It's made up of the basic Scout oath, promise and the 12 points of the law that they have to memorize. They also have to complete at least eight activity badges that range from areas like Fitness, Citizen, Readyman and Outdoorsman. They also have to choose badge requirements from the Technology group, like scientist or handyman, etc. In their last year, Webelos II, it's a lot about visiting the Boy Scout troop meetings and attending a lot of their outdoor activities."

Some of the highlights this den recently experienced together include visiting Battleship Cove and sleeping on the battleship and attending the Fidrych Farm camp out with Troop 101 this past fall.
"It's such a well run scouting program that offers the kids so much in regards to skills and fun," said Dave. "Watching these boys come up through the levels and achieve their required badges has been a tremendous experience. Helping them learn skills like camping preparation, crafts such as woodworking and art was really fun. They will all be very good Boy Scouts."
