Roofer Allegedly Stabs Co-Worker at EconoLodge

Police arrested a man from New Jersey for allegedly stabbing his co-worker.

A man from New Jersey is facing assault charges after allegedly stabbing his co-worker at the EconoLodge in Northborough.

Erik Hernandez, 27, Trenton, NJ, was arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault with intent to maim and disorderly conduct.

Northborough police responded to a call just before midnight on Friday, Dec. 12, to the Econo Lodge on Southwest Cutoff.

A man told officers he has been stabbed in his stomach by a co-worker. The two were in the area doing residential roofing for a roofing company based in New Jersey.

The victim was transported to UMass and treated for non life-threatening injuries, and Hernandez was arrested after being found in his motel room.

He was arraigned on Monday morning.
