Several Promotions Within Northborough Police Department
Three were promoted to sergeant, and one to lieutenant on the department.

NORTHBOROUGH, MA—Several promotions occurred within the past few week within the Northborough Police Department.
At the July 18 Board of Selectmen meeting, Police Chief William Lyver reviewed the process for promoting to the open position of lieutenant. Two internal candidates were interviewed by a panel that included a selectman, chiefs from Hudson and Southborough and Chief Lyver. By a unanimous decision, Senior Sergeant Joseph Galvin was voted to be promoted to lieutenant. Galvin was appointed, effective July 19.
On Aug. 18, Detective Jeremy Trefry was promoted to the rank of sergeant at a selectmen’s meeting. James Scesny and Justin Faucher were also promoted to sergeant.
