Shrewsbury, Northborough Fire Respond to 'Severe' Crash on I-290

NORTHBOROUGH, MA—This morning, Northborough and Shrewsbury fire departments rushed to a one-car crash on I-290, so severe that the cab of the vehicle separated from its frame.

Crews responded at 6:34 a.m. to 290 eastbound prior to exit 24 (Church Street) in Northborough, finding the vehicle severely damaged and off the side of the highway.

Shrewsbury and Northborough firefighters transported the driver to UMASS University campus by Northborough EMS. The cause of the accident is undetermined at this time and under investigation by the State Police.
