Singers needed for Northborough's 250th Town Chorus

All singers are welcome to join in the fun and become part of the Northborough's 250th Town Chorus, which will perform a concert to celebrate the town's anniversary on August 10, 2016 at 7:30 pm at Algonquin Regional High School.

Under the direction of Tom Lowe, the chorus will be performing selected choral pieces from two of Northborough's own composers, Abraham Wood and William Kellette.

Wood was an accomplished and renowned chorister and composer while the Northborough First Parish Church and Meeting House served the needs of the newly formed Town of Northborough.

Kellette was a composer who wrote many lyrics for songs which were popular during the early twentieth century including "I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles", a famous song he wrote while residing on Main Street.

Patriotic pieces including the Star Spangled Banner, God Bless America, America the Beautiful, Battle Hymn of the Republic, and Proud to be an American will also be part of the program.

There are no tryouts and music will be provided. Attendance to all rehearsals is encouraged but not required to accommodate individual schedules. Rehearsals will all be held at 7:30 pm at St. Bernadette's Church hall as follows:

Wednesday, June 15 and 29; Wednesday, July 6 and 13; Tuesday, July 26; and Wednesday, August 3.
