Small Biz Spotlight: Exchange Consignment Boutique and Spa

NORTHBOROUGH, MA — Owning the Exchange Consignment Boutique and Spa, Susan Whitney says she has created a unique "women's world of one-stop shopping" right in Northborough, taking consignment to a new level.

The Exchange, located at 19 Blake St., offers new and nearly-new designers' items, high-end clothing and accessories. Whitney said she recently expanded and now offers a women's plus section, furniture and home decor and a spa complete with nail and skincare services.

"Here at The Exchange you will also find a collection of new eco-friendly clothing and new work out clothing," said Whitney. "Buy a new outfit, then off to the spa for a mani/pedi and waxing. A complete package of retail and relaxed therapy. Consignment shopping offers a whole lot more and many people are realizing you can have the best wardrobe for so much less. It's a great hunt and a lot of fun."

What made you decide to open this type of business? I love the exciting, ever-changing world of fashion. And, I love the personal customer service I can provide.

What do you see for the future? I believe that we will see more people falling in love with the consignment store concept and small businesses.

The Exhange Boutique & Spa, at 19 Blake St. in Northborough, is open Monday-Friday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays, and Sundays "by chance."
