Stone's Motorcycle Company A Piece Of Northborough History
Steve Stone's got award winning bikes.
of Northborough not only provides a great service for the people of the area, but also makes what can only be described as works of art.
With more than forty years of experience, owner Steve Stone has defied the odds to make his bikes some of the most celebrated in the world. Originally schooled as a welder, Steve turned his expertise into a world class operation that is recognized by trade experts and has won numerous awards for his work.
Back in the '60s, Steve had a problem finding work. At the time, he learned to fly in return for fixing the planes with his welding skills. Most of the pilots at the time were also motorcyclists. As he was a welder, the pilots asked for his help customizing their bikes. This turned into a passion for him and eventually a full time job, training under world reknown master metal worker/fabricator, Fay Butler. In the beginning, Steve worked out of his garage. But the skill he showed and the talent that he had eventually got him to the point he is at today; a thriving, award winning business.

All of his bikes are custom-made. But Stone’s Motorcycle Company doesn’t just customize bikes; it also sells a wide variety of products and bike parts that will satisfy any bike owner. As a result, Stone’s Motorcycle Company is thriving in a bad economy.
“The economy has been a problem for all of us,” Stone said. “Motorcycles are basically expensive toys and that’s one of the first things you cut back on when times are lean. However, because we’ve been here so long not only do we have a great, loyal customer base but our overhead is very low due to the fact that most everything here is bought and paid for.”
