The Town of Northborough is seeking a permanent, full-time Health Agent. The salary range for this position is $71,334 - $92,735, depending upon qualifications. Candidates must demonstrate thorough knowledge of the laws, rules and regulations pertaining to public health, sanitation and approved methods for handling food. Responsibilities include enforcement of State and local public health laws and regulations. Processes applications, approves plans, issues appropriate permits and licenses, handles complaints and investigates alleged nuisances. Performs sanitary inspections of private sewage disposal systems. Inspects restaurants, food handling and processing establishments, nursing homes, group residence, child-care centers and other areas as required by law. Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in public health or related field and 3-5 years experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience as a municipal health inspector preferred. Must be a registered State Sanitarian and have a valid MA Class D driver’s license.
