Thought and Poem
It has been increasingly noticeable that no matter where you are, whether at the store, at work, at school, or walking about on the street, it is a fact that manners and acts of courtesy are on the decline.
For whatever the reasons; perhaps the older generations are being forgetful, or the younger generations have never been taught, we need to change how people treat one another. If we are to do away with abuse, rudeness and other ways we may offend people, we must remember our manners and learn to be polite.

We might feel that they younger generation has no clue as to how to be polite and they many not even have a clue to what good manners may be. Perhaps the older generation may have said how to…but their actions showed differently and the resulting effect is that the younger generation is imitating what they have been shown? Sometimes the blame is simply that we need to “practice what we preach? Certainly, we all have something to think about.
What about you? Do you think more effort needs to be made to reduce the amount of abuse and rudeness around you? Share your thoughts with us…Jeanne Claire Probst

The way it was before…and the way it should still be…
Those were the days of long ago,
That no matter where you would go…
People would smile at you as they went by…
Or, they would nod their heads; a casual way of saying “hi.”
Now-a-days, no one looks each other in the eye…
They will look the other way as they walk by…
They never allow themselves to make eye contact with you…
These will hurry on by; ignoring your presence as they do.
Those were the days of long ago…
When people remembered their manners where ever they would go...
Now-a-days, people more often forget to say “please and thank you...”
This can give the impression that you are being rude.
When did we stop teaching what is the proper thing to do is,
When there are other people around to greet and show our kindness?
To be courteous and polite to all we would meet…
No matter if we see them inside our homes…or if we see them on the streets.
Seems now-a-days many have never been taught…
Or…they somehow forgot…
But we must remember before it is too late…
Smiles, kindness and manners…these are good things to remember to initiate!
