Corn, cukes, zukes and more. The grand opening of the Community Garden is Aug. 13 at 10 a.m.
Northborough Recreation has announced the grand opening of Northborough Community Gardens on Saturday, Aug. 13, at 10 a.m.
The Community Gardens are located on a piece of property owned by the Parks and Recreation Commission on 70 Valentine Rd. It should be noted that the street signs for Valentine Rd. have been stolen. To find the, sort of secret garden, turn onto Fay Lane, take the first right (no sign) and follow the road around to the left. The garden is on the left.
The gardens opened this spring and ten lucky residents/groups were chosen by lottery to receive use of the garden beds.

The 6X12 foot beds were built by Eagle Scout Mike Strickland of Troop 1 in conjunction with a Metrowest Community Foundation Grant. Next spring, ten more beds by Eagle Scout candidate Michael Ryan of Troop 101 will be added.
