Worcester Woman Fired Gun In Walmart While Searching Purse: PD

The woman was in the checkout line at the Northborough Walmart when the gun went off.

NORTHBOROUGH, MA — A Worcester woman has been charged after she accidentally fired a 9mm handgun inside a Northborough Walmart on Monday.

According to reports, the woman digging through her purse in the checkout line when she bumped the handgun, causing it to fire a single shot. The bullet went into the floor and there were no injuries reported.

The incident happened near 8:30 p.m. at the store located along Route 20 near the Westborough line.

The 31-year-old woman is facing a single charge of discharging a gun within 500 feet of an occupied building, according to NBC10.
