North Reading Senior Citizens are invited to attend the annual Thanksgiving Dinner at Teresa's Functions & Events located at 20 Elm Street in North Reading on Sunday, November 22 beginning at 1 p.m. Doors will open at 12:30 p.m., and dinner service begins at 1 p.m. The event will be held in the beautiful Crystal Ballroom.
The North Reading Thanksgiving Dinner has been an annual tradition for more than 45 years. It is hosted by Representative Brad Jones, his wife Linda Jones and Senator Bruce Tarr in partnership with Jackie Quinn, Senior Center Director, the Council on Aging and the Friends of the Council on Aging. This year's event will feature a traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Guests will enjoy live entertainment, dancing and singing.
"My wife, Linda, Senator Tarr and I have been pleased to carry on this special holiday tradition for North Reading's Senior Citizens for nearly 25 years," said Representative Jones. "We are so proud to be a part of this special day, which has been an annual highlight for us."
"The Thanksgiving dinner is a wonderful opportunity to get together with neighbors and friends who make North Reading such a strong and close community. I'm honored to keep this tradition going with Representative Jones and Linda," said Senator Tarr.
The dinner is complimentary to all North Reading residents over the age of 60, made possible by the generosity of corporate and community benefactors. Reservations are required due to space limitations. Please call the Edith O'Leary Senior Center at 978-664-5600 to make your reservation. Capacity was reached quickly last year, so reserve your spot today.
As we continue to support those in need in our community, we have also partnered with the North Reading Food Pantry. All attendees who are able are asked to bring new, non-perishable, non-expired food items for the Pantry. At this time, the most needed items include:
· Large cans of tomato products; sauce and paste
· Mac & Cheese
· Jars of pasta sauce
· Men's Razors
· Body wash
Volunteers will be at the doors at the event to welcome and accept your food donations.
