Bakery Community Comes Together for Fundraising

Eighteen bakeries from neighboring communities are donating some of their special treats for a breast cancer fundraising bake sale coming up this weekend in front of Walmart (10 AM-5 PM).
From Lexington, we have Great Harvest Bread donating their delicious breads like cinnamon raisin, cranberry orange, or pumpkin swirl, to name a few.  Just down the street is Royal Pastry.  They are providing us with some Italian cookies for the table sale. On the Waltham/Lexington line is Wagon Wheel Farmstand.  As in the past, they are donating a variety of baked goods (to be determined at pick-up time)!
From Arlington, we have Angelina's Pastry making some fresh butter Italian cookies.  Angela uses her Italian roots to make so many delicious bakery items.  Lakota Bakery is well known for their nearly three dozen cookie flavors.  They are donating an assortment of these treats.  Further down Mass Ave in Arlington is Quebrada Bakery.  From them, we are receiving shortbread cookies...just part of their huge bakery selection.
Moving into Melrose, we have pink iced gingerbread people cookies coming from D'Amici's Bakery.  Breakfast and lunch are great here. Gingerbread Construction in Wakefield is providing us with an assortment of their infamous, huge muffins.
Burlington has a few donating bakeries, also.  Delicious Desserts is making whoopie pies and cupcakes.  New owner, Dianna, grew up in North Reading and is happy to give back to her community.  LaCacia Bakery and Deli is making a tray of assorted Italian cookies to tempt buyers.  A new treat for the sale table is flavored popcorn from Corn & Co at the Burlington Mall.  Who knew you could flavor popcorn in so many delicious ways?
Are you getting hungry yet?  There are more great treats to be announced tomorrow.  Whether you select something for $1 or anything up to $15, all  money goes to the American Cancer Society.  What a "sweet deal" for you and the ACS!
