High School/Middle School Construction on Fast Track
Construction progressing rapidly at North Reading's new high school/middle school project
This Tuesday, the Secondary School Building Committee had the opportunity to tour the high school/middle school construction site. As we climbed the stairs to the third floor of the high school classroom building, we encountered a phenomenal view looking toward Route 62.
Walking an entire floor of the high school classroom building provided a true appreciation for just how big it is. But, when you look to the north and see construction of the adminstrative wing and media center (library), the performing arts center, the cafeteria, Main Street, and the gymnasium, the enormity of the project is almost overwhelming.
Nearly all foundation work is complete and steel work is moving at a rapid pace. It is expected that steel will be done on the performing arts center (what we used to call an auditorium) in the next few weeks, with the gymnasium next on the schedule and the final building to have its steel erected.
