Huzzah for a Third Year Renaissance Festival at Hammond Castle!

Renaissance Festival to benefit Hammond Castle, July 27th/28th from 11 to 5

If you have not been to Hammond Castle Museum in Gloucester, MA (http://www.hammondcastle.org), it is an amazing piece of History that sits on the edge of the Hesperus.   John Hays Hammond Jr. was an eccentric inventor (you can thank him for the remote control when you finish reading this blog) that built a Castle from 1929 to 1936 with local pieces of stone as well as bringing them over piece by piece from Europe. During the summer, Hammond Castle is open for classes, tours and other special events like our Renaissance Festival we put on in July.  Our Renaissance Festival will be our third year, and we do this as a fundraiser for this wonderful piece of history!  We dress in outfit and you can join us with the fun, excitement and wonderment that is ready to await you, your family and your friends! The Castle seems to come to life with Knights wearing full armor http://www.rainasmind.com/neville/index.shtml or minstrels like Misfits of Avalon that play music to feed your soul (http://www.misfitsofavalon.com) or silly magicians that do tricks right in front of you!  http://www.tomfoolery.com  there as well!

There will also be numerous hand crafted wares for you to peruse and buy for your home, or for friends!

This event will take place July 27th and July 28th from 11 am to 5 pm each day.  Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for children ages 5 - 12 and children ages 4 and under are FREE!
