Local Moms Group Helps Connect Families

Local moms group helps connect families with young children.

The North Reading Moms & Tots group was started in 2011 as a way to connect local families with young children. If you're new to the area, a new mom, or just looking to meet new families this is a great way to meet other moms and kids. There are adult-oriented events including a monthly book club, mom's nights out or mom's nights in (such as Oscars night or wine and cheese events). For the kids, there are playgroups, meet-ups at local playgrounds and playspaces, and outings to places like Heavenly Donuts, Zinga, and Look What I Made.  And for the whole family, we have events such as a pancake breakfast and Dinner and a Movie Night Out.

The group consists of both working and stay-at-home moms, so we have meet-ups during the day, at night, and on weekends. We try to keep our calendar full so that there are lots of options for all of the members, but it is up to members to create and post events.

Moms & Tots also has an exciting new partnership with Flint Memorial Library. Formed this year, the goal of the partnership is to develop programming and events that the entire community can participate in. Some recent co-sponsored events include a Valentine's party and Mom's Fitness Event held at the library. In May, we are looking forward to hosting a Woodland Fairy Tea featuring clay pot decorating, seedling planting, face painting, featured readings, dress up, and tea served from real tea cups and saucers. This event will be held on May 18th and is open to the community. Contact the library to register for the event.
