Rachel Hill, Gymnastics State Champion
Two North Reading Gymnasts help earn XCEL Platinum 1st. place Team Award for Reading Gymnastics Academy at the Massachusetts State Championship Meet held May 11, at the North Andover High School.
Rachel Hill, a 7th grade student at the North Reading Middle School, has earned State Champion status. Rachel competed at the Massachusetts State XCEL gymnastics championship on Saturday, May 11th. held at North Andover High School. Rachel earned State Champion titles (gold medals) for both her bar routine, and vault. Thrilled to have achieved her highest score on floor this season, a 9.275, Rachel was awarded third place, a bronze medal.
With her all around second place ranking (cumulative score for all four events) in the State, Rachel is one of seven gymnasts in her age group to have qualified to compete representing the MA State Team at the 2013 Regional Championships to be held on June 9th. Rachel will join NR friend, and fellow RGA teammate, Alyson Kelleher in competing against gymnasts representing all New England states, plus New York.
Rachel is a lifelong gymnast at Reading Gymnastic Academy. Her entire XCEL Platinum team, impeccably and proudly coached by Sarah Peabody and Michael Hahn performed exceptionally this season, and again on Saturday, earning the team of gymnasts from surrounding towns the top position in the state. The RGA XCEL Platinum team was crowned 2013 State Champions, out of 27 gyms representing the entire state of Massachusetts.

Rachel has proudly earned two permanent stars on the RGA “wall of fame” for her state champion status. Reading Gymnastics Academy has recently announced that they will be moving to a wonderful new facility on Concord Street in North Reading.
