By-Law Citation Issued for Marijuana Possession

The following is a look at some of the calls handled by the North Reading Police Department from Friday through Sunday. The information is open to the public.

Arrests

At 2:41 p.m. Friday, as the result of a motor vehicle stop, Tura J. Purnell, 26, of 8 Junction Rd. was arrested on charges of operating with a suspended license.

Friday, May 17

• At 10:54 p.m., an Emerson Road resident reported a house party. Police asked about 30 kids to leave the home. 

Saturday, May 18

• At 12:06 a.m., a caller reported a car accident on Winter Street. A car hit a pole. One person was transported to the hospital.
• At 3:32 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Park Street. One person was transported to the hospital.

Sunday, May 19

• At 2:32 a.m., a Rebecca Row resident reported a loud house party on his street. The homeowner agreed to turn the music down.
• At 12:17 p.m., a resident walked into the police station to report seeing two males and a female at Clarke Park with a silver handgun. As a result, police pulled the males and female over on Main Street and found marijuana and a pellet gun. Police issued a by-law citation for the marijuana and confiscated the pellet gun. Police also confiscated a small, double edged weapon and may issue criminal charges.
• At 1:45 p.m., a Central Street resident reported that her hanging flower basket was stolen.
• At 7:22 p.m., a caller reported a fight at Kitty's. One male was injured. The fight was between brothers and neither one wanted to press charges.
