Celebrating 375 Years With Multi-Church Concert May 26

Union Congregational Church of North Reading will join kickoff of Reading's 375th birthday celebration.

On Sunday, May 26th, at 4 p.m. in celebration of its 375th anniversary, First Parish Congregational Church of Wakefield will host a multi church concert to lead off the town of Reading’s 375 celebration which begins on May 31. 375 Years of Faithfulness and Praise will include members from First Congregational Church of Reading, Union Congregational Church of North Reading and members of First Parish Congregational Church of Wakefield.

First Parish Congregational Music director Don Hodgkins is choosing well known pieces of the 375 years which the choir and the First Parish Contemporary Christian Band Cornerstone will also perform.

In celebration of the 375 Anniversary, FPCC recently visited their 18th century silver stored at the Museum of Fine Arts since 1910. They have 9 pieces of silver gifted to First Parish Congregational Church from early members.

On Saturday September 21, from 12-3 pm FPCC will host Games on the Green for families to share in outdoor fun on the common.
