Coming Sunday: North Reading's Town Day

The Reading-North Reading Chamber of Commerce will host its first annual North Reading Town Day to highlight the community and local businesses. The event will be held at Ipswich River Park in North Reading on Sunday from 12–5 pm.

Chamber President Mike Doyon commented, “The Chamber is looking forward to our first Annual North Reading Town Day, and we are thrilled by the community response to date.”

North Reading Town Day will feature entertainment, great food, North Reading nonprofit groups, in addition to highlighting local businesses, products and services. This new event aims to bring residents, families and the North Reading community together to kick off the summer season. Central Street will be closed and there will be shuttles between North Reading High School and Ipswich River Park.

The Chamber thanks the many generous sponsors who will be hosting a variety of free, family-friendly activities throughout the afternoon, including presenting sponsor The Savings Bank. There will be a children’s area and spin art, sponsored by The Jewelry Vault; a large climbing wall, sponsored by Farrelly Realty and Conway Law; an obstacle course style inflatable sponsored by Doyon’s TV and Appliance; a dog show will be sponsored by Bark ‘n Roll, and NuImage DJ will be providing music and entertainment all afternoon long.

And make sure your kids decorate their bikes for summer and enter the bike parade and contest, sponsored by Law Office of Andrew Schultz, P.C. Additional sponsors include Reading Gymnastics Academy, Salem Five Bank, Hallmark Health, North Reading Veterinary Clinic, Teradyne, Angelini Plastering, Winchester Hospital and Elle Salon. Performances by local dance and karate studios are planned.

Enjoy great food from local restaurants such as The Horseshoe Grille, Ryers grilled fare and Lasting Impressions Catering and treats from Cupcake City, Kona Shaved Ice and Ice Cream Truck frozen novelties. Great old fashioned fun continues all afternoon long with a Pie Eating Contest sponsored by Lasting Impressions catering, Tug of War sponsored by Abosolute Fitness and much more.
