CIT Seeks Nomination for Good Neighbor Awards
Recipients will be recognized in August

The North Reading Community Impact Team is now accepting nominations for the 2019 Good Neighbor Award. Any individual citizen of the Town of North Reading, of any age, is eligible. Organizations may not be nominated. To nominate a citizen, simply complete the 2019 Good Neighbor Nomination Form and submit it to the Community Impact Team no later than Friday, July 5, 2019. Up to 3 winners will be selected based on the nomination form. Winners will be presented with a 2019 Star Award and announced in the media. Community Impact Team Member Fire Chief Don Stats noted, "The CIT recognizes the important impact individuals make here in North Reading. We want to make sure there is a formal way to recognize these people. This is a simple way to acknowledge their work and efforts." This award is offered every other year, and it is the fourth time the CIT has sponsored the program. Nomination forms are available here. About the North Reading Community Impact Team
The North Reading Community Impact Team (CIT) is a partnership between the North Reading
Police Department, North Reading Youth Services, North Reading School Department, North
Reading Parks & Recreation, North Reading Fire Department, North Reading Elder Services, Department of Public Health and the North Reading Board of Selectmen. The team was developed to better coordinate the services provided to the community. The CIT's mission is to work together to better the quality of life for all citizens. The Team emphasizes the use of innovative, non-traditional methods of impacting crime and the fear of crime and strives toward cooperative interaction between the community, law enforcement and town departments. The CIT works to identify factors that have a negative impact on the quality of life for the citizens of North Reading and to implement solutions that solve the underlying problems. The group is organized into Action Teams including the Youth Substance Use Prevention Coalition, Social Services Action Team, and K-12 Action Team.
