Community Impact Team Hosts Free Mental Health Workshop
This free presentation is welcome to those in middle school and older

The North Reading Community Impact Team and Minding Your Mind will be presenting “Just Talk About It” on Monday, April 22nd. This free interactive presentation is an introduction to mental health, designed to train both adults and youth on how to recognize the warning signs of stress, anxiety, depression, and crisis. Attendees will learn about: stigma regarding mental health, the most common causes and effects of stress and anxiety, negative and positive coping skills, the symptoms of depression, what is considered a crisis, the warning signs most often associated with a mental health crisis, and how to help a youth, student, or friend who is experiencing a mental health crisis or issue.
North Reading Mental Health/Substance Abuse Clinician Laura Miranda explained, “With the support of North Reading Community Impact Team, we are looking forward to bringing this interactive and engaging mental health presentation to town. The event is geared to teach both adults and youth on how to recognize warning signs of a potential mental health crisis. We are encouraging families to attend together, as there will be a youth presenting as well.” She continued. “This is an exciting opportunity for us to keep the conversation on mental health going! We hope to see you there.
The free event will begin at 6:30PM and include a presentation and Q&A with Mental Health Counselor Jon Mattleman and a young adult presenter. The event is appropriate for ages middle school and above and will be held at the Flint Memorial Library located at 147 Park Street. Mental health and substance abuse resources will also be available at the event.
