Cooling Station set up at the O'Leary Senior Center

Police urging residents to check in on their elderly neighbors.

North Reading officials are taking steps to make sure the town’s elderly residents make it through this late summer heatwave.

On Wednesday, Sept. 9, North Reading Elder Services will have a cooling station set up at the Edith O’Leary Senior Citizen Center until 4 p.m.

Meals on Wheels service will also be delivering water with meals.

North Reading Police are asking that residents consider checking in on elderly neighbors during this current heat wave, and if they need any assistance to contact Elder Services at (978)-664-5600 or make an emergency 911 call.

The Senior Center is located at 157 Park Street on top of the Common.
