Crack Sealing of Selected Roads Should be Completed on Friday
The work will require some single-lane closures.

The crack sealing of selected roads in North Reading began on Thursday. The work is expected to continue through Friday.
The purpose of crack sealing is to prevent water from getting under the pavement and causing damage due to water freezing & lifting of the pavement.
The streets for crack sealing have been chosen through the town’s wide Pavement Management Plan.

The selected streets are:
- Crestwood Road
- Duane Drive
- Fairbanks Lane
- Gage Road
- Hidden Pond Lane
- Lindor Road
- Marblehead Street
- Marshall Street
- Mentus Farm Lane
- Quimby Road
- Robin Road
- Stevens Road
- Sylvia Road
- Wright Street
- Selected locations on Route 62
- Selected locations on Chestnut Street
This work will require short-term closure of single lanes while the work is being done, resulting in minor traffic delays. Police detail officers will be on site to control and re-direct traffic around the work areas. The work is expected to start on Thursday, Oct. 22 and to be complete by Friday Oct. 23.

This preventive maintenance work will generate noise and cause inconvenience.
