Electronic Monitor Violation Leads to Arrest

The following information was supplied by the North Reading police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following is a look at some of the calls handled by the North Reading Police Department from Monday at noon through Thursday. The information is open to the public.

Arrests

At 10:12 a.m., on Sunday, March 24, police received a call from an electronic monitoring probation department indicating a violation. Lisa M. Dempsey, 52, of 103 Main Street, Apt. 1, North Reading, was arrested on a warrant.

Friday, March 22

  • At 2:17 p.m., officers reported that there was a traffic hazard during the school release because of cars parked in no parking areas on the school access road. As a result, there was a back up of traffic onto Rt. 62 and a dangerous condition within the access road.
  • At 7:51 p.m., police were called to Sunbridge Care & Rehabilitation for a possible abuse by an employee on a patient. Because the alleged incident happened at the facility, the Department of Health was notified.

  • At 12:47 a.m., a 911 operator reported a crash on MacIntyre Drive. Damage was done to two trees in front of a home. A 16-year-old drive was summonsed for junior operating a motor vehicle between 12-5 a.m. without a parent, junior operator with passenger under 18 years old, and speeding.

Sunday, March 24

  • At 3:17 a.m., a caller reported a possible drug deal going on in a white car on Lowell Road. Police found the vehicle running, but the resident inside was checking their phone and it was unfounded.
  • At 1:49 p.m., a resident told police that she was assaulted by a male party who punched her in the face. A restraining order was issued against the 42-year-old male, who was summonsed on two counts of assault and battery, malicious damage to a motor vehicle, and witness intimidation.

Monday, March 25

  • At 7:26 p.m., a resident called to report that her 17-year-old foster child ran away or was missing. The teenager was entered into the mission children database and the Lowell Police Department was notified to be on the lookout.
