POLICE LOG: FBI Seizes Storage Unit on Main Street

The following is a look at some of the calls handled by the North Reading Police Department from Tuesday, July 2 through Thursday, July 4. The information is open to the public.
Tuesday, July 2
At 9:15 a.m., police cited a North Reading man for a red light violation on Park Street.
At 1 p.m., police assisted Massachusetts State Police in executing a search warrant at the Town and Country Self Storage on Main Street. The FBI Strike Force later seized control of a unit and added a new padlock. It is part of an ongoing investigation and North Reading Police cannot comment on the case at this time.

At 10:23 a.m., police placed a 38-year-old North Reading resident into protective custody.

Wednesday, July 3
At 11:36 a.m., a North Andover woman told police that someone stole her pocketbook from her unlocked car at Kids Spot on Chestnut Street. She said she went to Kids Spot at 9:30 a.m. and when she returned to her car two hours later, her pocketbook was gone. She said there was $850, a checkbook and her license in the pocketbook.
At 5:53 p.m., a contractor told police that residents on Bishops Way are getting hostile toward him. He was trying to clean a wall, but neighbors harassed him. Police spoke to the residents.
Thursday, July 4
At 12:12 a.m., police received a call about many cars parked at the intersection of Burditt Road and Kingston Street. The caller was concerned that a fire truck or ambulance couldn’t get by in an emergency. Police found there was a party in a neighborhood home; people at the party agreed to move the vehicles.
At 3:51 p.m., police responded to North and Main streets concerning a motor vehicle accident. There were no injuries and no visible damage.
At 9:38 p.m., police received a call about a dog struck on Park Street. The owner of the dog was at the scene and transported the injured dog to a veterinarian's office.
