FREE Mentor Program Expanded
Youth Services Program now open to grades 3-8. High School volunteers also needed.

North Reading Youth Services is pleased to announce that it is expanding its free Mentoring Program. The program now serves grades 3-8. We are currently seeking high school mentors to serve as leaders to children in grades 3-8 each Wednesday for a 10-week session beginning September 30th. The new middle school session will run 2:45p-3:45p and the elementary (grades 3-5) session will run 3:45-4:45 at the Middle School. Youth Services Director Amy Luckiewicz explained, “Last Spring, I got a lot of inquiries if we had a mentor program for middle schoolers. Middle School Principal Cathy O’Connell encouraged us to try it out and we’re excited to expand an already popular program.” During the 10-week session, mentors will assist with homework followed by a supervised group activity such as cupcake decorating, card games, or a structured project.
All high school teens interested in serving as mentors, should contact Youth Services to schedule a meeting. Teens will be asked to make the 10-week commitment, serve as role models and be able to assist with homework. Teens will also receive a community service hours certificate at the end of the session.
Parents of all North Reading students in grades 3-8 are encouraged to contact Youth Services to register their children or visit www.northreadingma.gov/youth-services and click on Programs. The program is free to all participants.
