Growing Up in the Digital Age
North Reading Community Impact Team hosts Screenagers viewing

The Community Impact Team’s K-12 Action Team and the Youth Substance Use Prevention Coalition are a free presentation of Screenagers. The screening will be held on Wednesday, October 11th at the North Reading High School’s Performing Arts Center at 6:30pm. Free parking is available at the school and resources will be available for attendees.
In Screenagers, physician and filmmaker Delaney Ruston takes a deeply personal approach as she probes into the vulnerable corners of family life, including her own, to explore struggles over social media, video games, academics and internet addiction. Through poignant and unexpectedly funny stories, along with surprising insights from authors, psychologists, and brain scientists, Screenagers reveals how tech time impacts kids’ development and offers solutions on how adults can empower kids to best navigate the digital world and find balance.
School Superintendent Jon Bernard noted, “As the Superintendent of Schools and Chairman of the Kindergarten to Grade 12 Action Team, I am responsible for bringing informational programs to students, families, and the community at large. I am very excited that North Reading is hosting this showing of Screenagers. The subject of this film is very much in alignment with the mission of the K-12 Action Team, which is to assist young people in making responsible decisions regarding their quality of life.”
