Help High School Robotics Team Get to Nationals

Named perSEVERE, a team of high school students from Tewksbury, Lowell, Dracut, North Reading, Andover, and Pelham, NH, are participating in the FIRST Robotics Competition and have earned the Chairman’s Award-the highest honor -which was earned at both the Greater Boston District event and the New England FIRST District Championship. This competition provides students with the opportunity to gain experience solving real world problems in a short period of time, relying on each other and their own ingenuity to design, assemble, program and operate a robot to meet the challenges of competition. This award has qualified FRC Team 5962 to compete and represent New England at the FIRST World Championship in Detroit, MI.

Supported by mentors from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, and several other generous sponsors, perSEVERE holds biannual events to teach young women about electrical, mechanical, and software engineering, as well as soft skills necessary for success.

The team is now asking for help to send 25 students and mentors to the FIRST Championship in Detroit, April 25-28, 2018. The team has created a Go Fund Me page at https://www.gofundme.com/frc-team-5962-championship-2018 and needs financial support for their bus trip, robot shipping and expenses.
