Hornets Host Coaches vs. Cancer Hockey Game
Unbeaten North Reading faces Masconomet in benefit for American Cancer Society.
It's been a great winter to watch the North Reading boys' hockey team. Thursday night you can watch again, but this time also contribute to a great cause.
The Hornets will host Masconomet in a Cape Ann League game to benefit the fight against cancer. The Coaches vs. Cancer game starts at 7:10 at Kasabuski Arena in Saugus. All proceeds will go to the team's "Hockey Players are Cancer Slayers" campaign and the 2017 Relay for Life. Rosters for the game will include the name of a person that each player is honoring and remembering.
And if the players look a little different Thursday, it must be the color purple. The Hornets will have purple laces to add to their skates and purple tape for their sticks. For fans, there will be a table in the lobby to collect donations and sell 50/50 raffle tickets.
