How Did North Reading Vote in the State Election?

North Reading leaned Republican on Tuesday.

You can put North Reading strongly in the Charlie Baker camp. In fact, North Reading backed most Republican candidates over their Democratic opponents during the State Election on Tuesday.

North Reading voters voted more than two-to-one for the Republican gubernatorial candidate over Democrat Martha Coakley. North Reading also backed Republican Richard Tisei for Congress, which is against the Sixth District’s ultimate decision to support Democrat Seth Moulton.

In probably the biggest surprise, Republican challenger Brian J. Herr got more votes in North Reading than U.S. Senator Edward J. Markey. Markey easily won the race statewide, but he lost North Reading.
