Hydrant Flushing to Begin on Sept. 21

The North Reading Water Department conducts an annual hydrant flushing program in the fall to remove fine iron and manganese sediments.

The annual fire hydrant flushing program will begin on Sept. 21 continue until Oct. 28.

The North Reading Water Department conducts an annual hydrant flushing program in the fall to remove fine iron and manganese sediments that deposit in the water mains. Homes and businesses in the vicinity of the flushing may experience discolored water during and shortly after the hydrant flushing takes place.
