John Gallant Passes Away

John “Ray” Gallant, 70, of North Reading died Nov. 14th after battling cancer.

John was past Captain of Malden Fire Department, and served in the US Marines during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion in Malden and the VFW. Avid with civic virtue and always willing to lend a hand, John enjoyed conversation with everyone, camping with family, golfing, and skiing with friends. In retirement, John loved spending time in Sarasota, Florida with his wife, Donna.

Beloved husband of Donna (Clifford). Father of Scott Gallant of Portland, Oregon and Laura Gallant of Peabody. Son of the late John L. and Helen Gallant. Brother of Helena Tripp and husband Ted of TX, Stephen Gallant and wife Linda of Melrose, and Warren Gallant and wife Sue of NM.

Relatives and Friends welcomed at Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St, North Reading Saturday, Nov. 18th 11 am – 1 pm. Interment will be private. Please omit flowers and make donations in John’s name to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284.
