Many Nearby Gas Stations Are Below $3 Per Gallon

But North Reading stations continue to charge more than $3.

AAA Southern New England said the average regular gas price dropped another 8 cents over the past week and is now at $3.09.

Prices have dropped 29 cents from a month ago.

“We are rapidly approaching a $3 per gallon average in Massachusetts, with dramatic price drops at the pump in each of the last threeweeks. That’s good news as we head into the holidays, giving motorists a bit more to spend on gifts, travel, and basic expenses,” said Mary Maguire, AAA Southern New England Director of Public and Legislative Affairs.

There are some stations in the area that have dropped below $3 per gallon. Reading has four stations with prices less than $3, MIddleton has three and Wilmington has eight. However, North Reading stations continue to charge more than $3 per gallon.
