North Reading Youth Services Needs High School Mentors

Mentors are needed to serve as leaders to children in grades 3-8 for a 10-week session starting January 6.

North Reading Youth Services is now enrolling for its Winter Session of the free Mentoring Program. The program now serves grades 3-8. We are currently seeking high school mentors to serve as leaders to children in grades 3-8 each Wednesday for a 10-week session beginning January 6, 2016. The middle school session runs 2:45p-3:45p and the elementary (grades 3-5) session runs 3:45-4:45 pm at the Middle/High School Library. During the 10-week session, mentors will assist with homework followed by a supervised group activity such as cupcake decorating, card games, or a structured project.

All high school teens interested in serving as mentors, should contact Youth Services to schedule a meeting. Teens will be asked to make the 10-week commitment, serve as role models and be able to assist with homework. Teens will also receive a community service hours certificate at the end of the session.

Parents of all North Reading students in grades 3-8 are encouraged to contact Youth Services to register their children or click here and click on Programs. The program is free to all participants.
