North Reading-Based Kiva Systems Looking to Add 60 New Positions

Amazon, which bought Kiva Systems in 2012, is hoping to add more than 1,200 jobs in Massachusetts.

Amazon company Kiva Systems is looking to add 60 new positions, which is part of the more than 1,200 positions Amazon expects to create in Massachusetts.

Boston Business Journal said Amazon is looking for a new distribution center in Fall River that could bring 1,000 jobs. In the Boston area, Amazon is expected to hire more than 100 employees, including the 60 at Kiva Systems.

Amazon bought Kiva Systems for $775 million in 2012. The company, which is based on Riverpark Drive near Concord Street and Route 93, develops mobile-robotic solutions that automatically fill eCommerce orders for companies like Staples and Boston Scientific. Kiva Systems manufactures the robots on site.
