North Reading Boys Earn No. 5 Seed In Lacrosse Tournament

The North Reading boys were named the No. 5 seed in the MIAA Division 3 North tournament field Friday. North Reading will host No. 12 seed Essex (12-8) on Tuesday at 5 p.m. in a first-round matchup.

The Hornets are one of seven Cape Ann League teams in the 15-team field. The top seed is Hamilton-Wenham (15-1) followed by No. 2 seed and defending North champion Ipswich (14-2). Last year Ipswich eliminated the Hornets in the quarterfinals.

North Reading lost to H-W, 13-7, on May 11 and to Ipswich, 26-14, May 15.
