The top-seeded North Reading High boys' soccer team lost 3-1 to Wayland in the MIAA North Division 3 final on Sunday. The Hornets, which finished the regular season at 12-3-3, jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first half, but Wayland clawed back and scored three unanswered goals. North Reading won in overtime and penalty kicks in the two previous rounds of the tournament. Wayland will play South sectional winner Norwell at Brockton High School on Wednesday.

The top-seeded North Reading High boys’ soccer team lost 3-1 to Wayland in the MIAA North Division 3 final on Sunday.

The Hornets, which finished the regular season at 12-3-3, jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first half, but Wayland clawed back and scored three unanswered goals. North Reading won in overtime and penalty kicks in the two previous rounds of the tournament.
