North Reading Grand Jury Indictments Announced

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan announced the following indictment for North Reading. The indictment was handed down between June 1 and July 20, 2017. Defendants are listed by towns where alleged offenses occurred. Defendants without a hometown listed do not have a last known address. These charges are allegations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Jelane Bragen, 77, of North Reading, was charged with assault and battery on a person over the age of 60 causing injury (2 counts), assault and battery on a person over the age of 60 (2 counts), suffocation, strangulation (2 counts), and abuse by a caretaker causing injury. The Assistant District Attorney is Doug Nagengast.
