North Reading Hazmat Situation Caused By Package Leak

Crews are investigating a package leak at a UPS warehouse.

NORTH READING, MA – Investigators are at the scene of a hazmat situation in North Reading, reports say. Crews were called to the UPS warehouse on Concord Street early Wednesday morning to after a package leaked at the facility.

According to CBS Boston, there was a possibility that a small amount of Theofenal, a chemical that can cause damage to the kidneys or liver, had leaked from the package. A hazmat team was called in to sweep the building for the chemical.

No injuries were reported.
