North Reading Looking For Volunteers To Fill Committees

The town is looking for volunteers to fill spaces on the Conservation Commission, Library Trustees and Zoning Board of Appeals.

NORTH READING, MA — North Reading is looking for volunteers who want to get involved in local government. There are openings on three committees appointed by the Select Board. The committees include Conservation Commission, Library Trustees and Zoning Board of Appeals.

The Conservation Commission is responsible for formulating local environmental protection policies and enforcing the state and local Wetlands Protection Act. This commission meets twice a month.

Library Trustees is a board that is responsible for public library programs and service policy formation, and meets monthly.

The Zoning Board of Appeals is a quasi-judicial board that acts on appeals of zoning interpretations and variances from the Zoning By-laws. The Board also acts as special permit granting authority for certain uses allowed under zoning. This Board meets twice a month.
