North Reading Man Indicted By Grand Jury

North Reading's Daniel Christie, 35, was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and armed robbery. District Attorney Marian Ryan announced the grand jury indictments Tuesday, which were handed down between Aug. 3 and Sept. 20.

"Social media is a very powerful tool, and today our community showed demonstratively that it will not tolerate brazen acts of violence. I am extremely proud of the citizens who came forward and phoned in tips to the North Reading Police Department that directly led to the arrest of a suspect within 12 hours of the incident," Chief Michael Murphy said following his arrest in May.

These charges are allegations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. The Assistant District Attorney is Julie Kunkel.
