Chief Warnock was an advocate for the department to ensure that the members had the best equipment and training that was available and ensuring proper staffing so that the firefighters could do their jobs effectively.

His favorite line was "when the phone rings, we go" and Chief Warnock always led from the front and loved to get his hands dirty when working fires and other scenes. A standing room only crowd was on hand today to enjoy a BBQ lunch and watch the presentations, many of Chief Warnock's friends, family and town employees as well as members from more outside departments than can be listed were present.

Chief Warnock was always one of the guys and was truly a friend to NR Firefighters Local 1857. They don't make great jakes like Billy anymore and he will be sorely missed, and we wish him the very best of health and happiness in his retirement. JOB WELL DONE!
